The Horn of Destiny

Long ago, in the rolling grasslands of Uganda, a boy named Kato was born into a family of herders. His people believed the Ankole cattle were not just animals, but living treasures — symbols of wealth, beauty, and resilience.

Kato’s favorite was a calf named Nyota, whose horns curved like crescent moons. As Nyota grew, her horns stretched toward the sky, gleaming in the sun like ivory towers. When drought struck the land, many families lost their herds, but Nyota led Kato’s cattle to hidden waterholes, saving them from despair.

Years later, when Kato became chief, he told his people: “The Ankole are more than cattle. They are guardians of our survival, teachers of patience, and reminders that strength can also be graceful.”

And so, the legend of Nyota lived on — a story passed from fire to fire, horn to horn, across generations.
